I'm the co-founder of PIXELearning, a 'Serious Games' company based in Coventry, UK.

This site contains information about my professional activities including some articles, papers and presentations that I have written. I've been heavily quoted in a book about 'Serious Games', interviewed for several eLearning and training trade publications and I/PIXELearning have been mentioned in the FT, The Times Higher Education Supplement and The Guardian.

I also have an amateur (and I emphasise 'Amateur'!) interest in all things WW2. I have visited the battlegrounds of Dieppe, The Battle of the Bulge and, most recently, the D-Day landings. Photos of the trip to Normandy currently proliferate on this site but I will endeavor to get more of a balance to the site over time.

Oct '07, The Blog is live

I've signed up to Word Press and set up a blog. See The Evil Number 27's Occasional Bivouac for posts about Serious Games, simulations & learning. I've also signed up to Facebook after trying to resist for well over a year. Welcome to the 21st Century Mr Corti.

June '07, Revisiting the Normandy beaches

I recently spent a week 'yomping' across the Normandy D-Day battlefields with my father. We started at St Mere Eglise and Utah Beach, worked our way down past Grandcamp Massie and Omaha and then through the British and Canadian beaches to the east. Despite the 'tourification' of the region it is still incredibly interesting and more than a little thought-provoking especially around the anniversary of the landings. I have added some of the photos to a 'D-Day album' on the Photos page.

May '07, Back up your hard drive!

A year or so ago I started building two mini-sites; one based on my collection of Ferrari photos (taken in the late 1980s) and the other based upon the wartime experiences of my grandfather. These are online (see 'Minisites') but incomplete due to the badly-timed demise of my external hard drive where I had many source files 'safely' stored. One day I will invest the £700 or so required to recover the HD data but for now these sites are partially complete.
